I don’t think it’s rocket science myself, and I don’t need studies to tell me that soft drinks and sodas that contain artificial sweeteners may be bad for you.

However, I still find many people asking the question, "Is diet soda bad for you?" In short, yes.

A lot of people are sucked in to all the marketing and it shows by the volumes consumed on a daily basis. If these things were good for you disease and health related issues would be going down…not going up.

These drinks have been linked to all sorts of health problems for years such as weight gain. But it seems that the message does not get through; unfortunately its societies’ children and future generations that will suffer.

The trap is that if you buy these drinks and stock them at home or even the workplace, it is so easy just to grab one and start guzzling it down. So the obvious thing to do is not to stock them at all!

See below for the effects of soft drinks and sodas from CNN...

CNN Reports: “In other words, artificial sweeteners may spur drinkers — or their brains — to keep chasing a ‘high’ that diet soft drinks or sodas keeps forever just out of reach …

Whether you feel dependent or not, drinking too much diet soft drinks or sodas might be risky in the long run. In recent years, habitual diet soft drinks or diet-soda consumption has been linked to an increased risk of low bone mineral density in women, type 2 diabetes, and stroke.

What’s more, a growing body of research suggests that excessive diet soda intake may actually encourage weight gain.”

Now do you see why diet soda is bad? Unfortunately companies are spending more money influencing you to consume these harmful drinks, rather than educating you on what are healthier alternatives.

So if you want to be one step closer to being healthier ditch the diet soda and soft drink!
