Why A Happy And Healthy Lifestyle Is Dependent On What You Say

Speaking comes to most people as naturally as breathing. On many occasions words are uttered without conscious thought. How often do you stop and think about what you are saying?

Thousands of words pour out of your mouth each day as your thoughts, opinions, judgements and beliefs are freely expressed. Often, however, you are oblivious to the positive or negative effect these words have on yourselves and the people around you. It can also determine if you have a healthy lifestyle or otherwise...

Words have tremendous power. Words give out energy and a message which creates a reaction in others. Everything you say produces an effect in the world. Whatever you say to someone else will produce some kind of an effect in that person, whether that be positive or negative. If you want a healthy life you need to be wary of what you are saying.

Reactions to your words are often varied. For example, if you speak words of judgement to a person they will judge you back, probably with more intensity as pain or anger has been experienced. Conversely, words of kindness and acceptance will generate a warm and appreciative reaction in a person. That person's response to those words will also create a strong emotion but in a more positive way. The power of words has a ripple effect on your health and wellness, as well as those around you.

I remember being told a story from a young woman who said that as a child her mother called her an “ugly duckling.” And you know what, her mother probably can’t even remember saying it or meant any real harm. However, the young woman carried these words with her throughout her adolescence; she suffered eating issues and lack of confidence. Her health and wellness were dealt a blow.

It was in her 20s that she started to regain confidence. She received positive words from friends, family and colleagues about her appearance, personality and kind nature. From this moment on, she blossomed. See how powerful even two words can be. It can determine if you have a healthy lifestyle or not.

Dr Emoto, President Emeritus of the International Water for Life Foundation, did studies on water crystals. He took samples of water, froze them and took photographs of the water crystals. He then wrote words on vials of water taken from the same source. The crystals that formed in the vials, which had positive, healthy words, such as love and gratitude, were beautiful. However the crystals in the vials with negative words such as hate and evil were very different, and the water didn't even form crystals in some instances.

Experiments were done using words from different languages, and also by the scientists having no knowledge of what the words meant. The results were similar. More information can be found at or by watching the movie "What The Bleep Do We Know". The human body is around 70% water. If words had such a significant impact on water crystals, then what is the impact of positive and negative words to our health and wellness?

An important key to success in life is to understand the power of words. A word is a thought eternalized. Your thoughts do have a great effect on you even though they are internal. What you think affects the way you live your life, it effects your emotions, your attitudes and your behavior. A thought spoken, however, has even more power. It can never be taken back; it is out of your mouth and will have an effect. A healthy life depends on positive words.

Successful people take control of their words, rather than letting their words control them. They are more conscious of their thoughts and words and the power they unleash. Successful people understand that they need to speak positively rather than negatively in order to see success.

Successful people are characterized by the words that they speak. They know the importance of speaking words that will build self-esteem, confidence, build relationships, build possibilities and overall provide a healthy lifestyle. They speak words of affirmation, encouragement, love, acceptance and appreciation.

To see more personal success, the words that you speak need to be in alignment with what you want to see being produced in your life – your vision and your dreams. Choose to speak more healthy and positive words to better your overall health and wellness.

Your words can determine your destiny. Even more importantly, your words can make a positive difference on the people you interact with every day. Before you speak ask yourself: Is what I am about to say going to uplift the listener? Will it inspire, motivate, and create forward momentum for them? Will it dissolve fear and create safety and trust? Will I create a positive or negative ripple effect by speaking out these words?

Let's be determined to unleash the power of words for positive change, and to create a happy, healthy mind.
